Summary: Silly and sloppy

Yet another example of a great cast being no guarantee. What is meant to be an entertaining comic caper gets hopelessly lost in a script without continuity and somewhat lacking in direction. The characters inspired no sympathy or empathy, and the humour is on the whole very lame. Not recommended.

Summary: 8/10-Kewl film

A very entertaining film set in 1955, about two con-men, Richard Ng and David Chiang, helping a young woman, Jeannie, revenge her father's death, and reap a profit in the process. Some of the tricks the pair use to get money are quite good-like Richard Ng betting he can smoke a cigarette without shortening it, then lights it up from the middle! There are a few kung-fu fights, and a gun-fighting finale that John Woo would be proud of. The film also has its comic elements, with some amusing one-liners ("That's so small, how can we get through?" "Well, you can fit your head through that." "Me?" "People with smaller brains tend to have smaller heads.") , and Wu Ma giving some comic relief as the hapless undercover agent Little Peach Bossom. Recommended viewing.

PS: "If you want revenge so much, go make a Kung Fu film!"
