Reviewed by: Stephe Date: 01/27/2011 I just saw something remarkable: Princess Iron Fan. While the first half is okay, it's the second half that amazed me, as the two main characters are a monster named Madam White Bone [referred to as Lady White Skeleton in the subtitles on the IVL VCD] and her sister, who are played by Cheng Pei-pei and Lily Ho! In no other film have these two actresses shared as much screen time together, and we even get to see them swordfight together. Perhaps it is an overstatement to say that Cheng Pei-pei and Lily Ho play the two main characters in this half of the film, since it is the second of a series of four films about the Tang monk, the Monkey King, and Pigsy, but the plot hinges entirely on the machinations of the skeleton sisters. These are early roles for Cheng Pei-pei and Lily Ho who were adversaries in Song of Orchid Island -- released the same year -- but as already mentioned, no other film affords them as much screen time together in major roles. They, admittedly, are technically supporting roles, but they are significantly large as to be a draw for fans of either or both ladies. Reviewer Score: 7
