Dreadfully boring and self-indulgent. However, you do get to see a younger, much heavier Leon Lai.

Reviewed by: kjohnson Date: 12/09/1999 This film is excellent. I didn't realize it wasn't directed byStanley Kwan until I went back and checked the credits. It's a leisurely, moody film about the various relationships that three young women friends drift into and out of and a peripheral relationship between an older couple (Maggie and Kenny). It's beautifully filmed and acted. The film's focus is on the interactions between people and I particularly liked its perspective on how weird real relationships are.

Maggie Cheung slinks around all starry-eyed in revealing dresses, draping herself around her boyfriend (Kenny B); gorgeous Irene Wan is sexy enough to make you give up on the competition (until you see Maggie again); and I'm not anywhere near finished with the cast yet. Anyway, it's the story (story? what story?) of three department store girls and their loves interposed with Maggie's high-rent romance with a handsome architect.
