Reviewed by: STSH Date: 12/25/2000 Summary: Depressing Lovely northern Japan scenery, with fairly convincing performances from the leads in this melodrama of foolishness and greed. But very grim and depressing, and very much "so-what?". The female characters are treated apallingly, and despite this being consistent with the story and entirely believable, it's difficult to watch. I really cannot recommend this film.
