Reviewed by: Inner Strength Date: 08/16/2002 Summary: Good Lethal Contact is another one of those ‘buddy-cop’ comedies much like films like Currey And Pepper, and Tiger On The Beat etc. Personally I love those other 2 films, and Lethal Contact is not far off from what those films were trying to achieve. As it’s comedy as well as action, you do get a lot of the usual cop jokes (some are too stupid for me), and you get the big busted woman interest as usual, this time in the form of Amy Yip. But she doesn’t really have anything to do with the film and was pretty pointless her being in it. Kent Cheng’s comedy is the best thing about this film. Forget acting, it doesn’t matter in a film like this, because the action and comedy is what it’s about, and luckily most of it is pulled off with a good effect. Kent Cheng is a very talented man, and at the most of times is an excellent actor and from shown in this film also a very good director. [3.5/5]

Reviewed by: STSH Date: 12/31/1999 Summary: Pretty good cop-buddy comedy I had a sinking feeling at the start of this film. The antics of the two stars (who also directed) seemed to have no relevance to the plot, and this is really irritating …. for awhile. But things pick up quite nicely by the half-way mark, and turn into a fairly enjoyable comedy/cop-buddy flick. Jeff Falcon, as the gwailo boss, goes around kicking the stuffing out of everything that moves, and has the wildest Cantonese accent I've heard in a long time (of course, I'm just jealous !). Warning : serious fans of Amy Yip may find her three very brief appearances unsatisfying. Reviewer Score: 4
