Bordwell on Shaw Brothers movies

Postby Taijikid » Thu Dec 03, 2009 12:03 pm

Film critic David Bordwell writes a blog that I find consistently informative and entertaining. A recent blog entry offered a link to an on-line essay that Bordwell wrote on Shaw Brothers movies. Its title is Another Shaw Production: Anamorphic Adventures in Hong Kong. The essay can be found at the following link:

He also announced that he is currently working on an on-line version of his wonderful book Planet Hong Kong, which I believe is going out of print.

Well I did post that link on this site earlier last month: viewtopic.php?p=75225#p75225 :D

I have a RSS feed to his blog so I always read his content (finally finished his book yesterday :)).

Great piece, no matter where it's posted! :D

Makes me want to read Bordwell's book all over again! So good to see scholars still examining the Shaw output, especially now that so much of it is available to the world.
