Justice, my Foot ! - original

Postby Contrai » Sun Apr 01, 2007 7:38 pm

Hello,
i'm just watching the movie, coz comparing this one with Hail the Judge and Lawyer, Lawyer. Anyway, the question is:
I've read, it's a loose ? remake of a 60ies movie.
Which one ? Or just inspired by the Judge Bao stories, or rather anything else ?
And are there more representatives of this specific comedy / historical drama / law jurisprudence style in HK cinema ?

Thanks in advance.

Justice My Foot is a remake of the 1948 Judge Goes to Pieces starring Ma Sze Tsang and Hung Sin Nui which was adapted from his stage play. I have a copy on DVD but it's been many years since I've watched it.

Are there any versions out there with english subtitles? It's so hard to find pre-60s China/Hong Kong films, especially with english subs. :(

Sorry, not that I know of.

The HKFA has an online database that's always handy if you need a plot summary, though.
