More King Hu!

Postby cal42 » Sat Jul 08, 2006 9:31 am

Having just watched A TOUCH OF ZEN, I want more King Hu films...

I haven't been able to find RAINING IN THE MOUNTAINS, but does anyone know if this copy of DRAGON GATE INN is decent?

Not sure about that version... where did you see it for sale? The only legit release I know of for DRAGON GATE INN is from Germany... I got mine from Adrenafilm (http://www.adrenafilm.de/). It's decent, not spectacular.

I saw it on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000EN ... 6906?n=130

As you can see, it doesn't tell you a lot.

If anyone's interested, I've just watched the version I got from Amazon (which turns out to be a Japanese DVD from a company called Red Sun) and it's not too bad quality wise, but the subs are a little disappointing at times. Good film though.

I seem to recall a discussion in these forums a long, long time ago in which it was pretty well established that everything Red Sun sells is bootlegged.

I've had this dvd sitting around for a while now but haven't watched it yet. I'll check it out this weekend.

Still no luck with Raining in the Mountains yet, but I was able to order Legend of the Mountain quite easily from yesasia. Quite looking forward to it...
