The HKMDB release date of Bruce Lee's Secret is wrong the film was released in Taiwan 3/11/1976 - not 1979. The main title is also wrong it should be the alias one ?????:

This is a film advertisement of the Taiwanese newspaper.
Because in Taiwan, title is written from the right.

HKMDB the letters in the poster are ?? "?" ??.

"?" is a simplified character,
and the Chinese traditional type is "?".

Those meaning of the characters are "and".
In other words, winchun and Jeet Kune Do.

In Hong Kong, it's called ?????.
So, ????? and "Bruce Lee's Secret" are the alternate title in Taiwan.

I think the English title in Hong Kong "The Story of the Dragon" is correct.

According to a book published by the HKFA in 2014, it says:

It seems that it was changed to ????? at the time of screening in Hong Kong.
The reason for the change is also described.

The Chinese, in my understanding, says that the Lee family
would not allow "Jeet Kune Do" in the title, so it was changed.
(Quite understandable, as Ho Tsung-Tao or anyone else after
Bruce Lee could perform his style properly

So I think, the change of the entry to "Bruce Lee's Secret"
should be obvious then?

Besides I would have pointed out the simple physical proof
with the images uploaded: this lobby was sticked over with
"Story Of The Dragon" and also the Chinese title:

being in a row with this un-over-sticked lobby card with the same basis design

... and the poster here was reprinted, covering its former title
with some kind of repetetious background segment if you watch closely.

So, to me, it is obvious, "Bruce Lee's Secret" was there in the first place.

If the definition for a title as a main entry is with which title a movie started
in the cinemas in Hong Kong (this movie being nevertheless a Taiwan movie,
as Lan Tien Hung registered his company in Hong Kong only) ... then "Story
Of The Dragon" would be the right entry, although the original title wasn't
intended that way and posters already printed. Also, maybe it was shown
as "Bruce Lee's Secret" in Hong Kong first and some days, so that the Lee family
got knowledge of that and complained. Officially there is only a release date
source of "Story Of The Dragon" shown in Hong Kong.

So its just a play on word sounds but meaning is different."

leecoo - to clarify, yes we try to cover everything now from Taiwan and China, in addition to HK. We have more than 5000 movies from Taiwan now. The year we put on films is the year it is first released, even if it is not HK.
