Born in Chaozhou, she won the 2nd runner up in the Miss Asian Pageant in 1988 after her graduation from the secondary school. She debuted in TV with "Who is the Winner?" and in movies in 1994 with "The Bride With the White Hair II" and finally her first main role was in the movie "My Date With a Vampire" in 1999.
