After his graduation from the University of Hong Kong, he went to first to Britain and then to the United States for further studies. Upon his return to Hong Kong, he founded the City Magazine with John Chan. At the same time, he worked in TV and radio. He was well known for his performance as a Chiuchowese "Lui King" in radio show. In 1983, he joined famous businessman Dickson Poon's D & B Films as a producer and actor. Most of their productions did well at the box office. Sham founded Maverick Films Ltd. with John Chan later. From 1983 to 1992, Sham participated in 31 movies. (...)
