Biography

The Hong Kong actress was born in 1956 and a native of Guangdong province. She enrolled the first acting class of TVB in 1971 and it opened her door to showbiz. In 1974, she won the Miss Beach Pageant by RTV and subsequently became a TV actress for the local station. She jumped to the silver screen the following year and starred in "Bald-Headed Betty", where her bald head and audacious nudity had stirred up quite a sensation, and thus she was labeled as a sex symbol. In 1978, she decided to shed her sexy faade and joined TVB, where she starred in such classic drama serials including "The Bund" and "The Seasons", as well as hosting and performing skits in the paramount variety show "Enjoy Yourself Tonight". She moved to ATV in the 1990s and swiftly became a pillar of the station, where she founded San Sheng Films with her directorial debut "Torrid Wave". She also starred in the film with a steamy lesbian scene. Lam has achieved a filmography of over 60 titles.
