Biography
 
  Born in Changchun, China, in 1940, Ryoriko Asaoka was born in a family of politics as her fathers was the secretary of the Minister of Economics in Manchuria. Ryoriko returned to Tokyo with her family after the surrendering of Japan in 1946. She joined the local film industry in 1954 and was cast in the leading tole of ''Asia-Pol'', a James Bond-esque action galore which marked the collaboration between Hong Kong's Shaw Brothers and Japan's Nikkatsu Studio. Ryoriko was married with renowned actor Koji Ishizaka in March o 1971, which was phenomenal throughout the country. She was a multiple Best Actress winner for her acclaimed performance in "Men And War". As one of the most prolific actresses in Japan, Ryoriko's filmography was compiled of over 120 titles. Her signature role was the recurring character in the seminal ''Tora-san'' film series as Tora-san's girlfriend. In 2000, Ryoriko and Ishizaka filed for divorce. She then explored her stage career with critical success. From the DVD release of ''Asia-Pol''.
