Biography

Canto-pop singer and actress who began her movie career shortly after moving to Hong Kong at age 11. Thanks to her father, who worked in film and advertising, she was cast in a few small roles, most notably in New Dragon Gate Inn [1992] where she played Ye-Ye, one of two children of a court official murdered by Donnie Yen.

Her music career really took off in 2000, after performing in the New Talent Competition for Emperor Entertainment Group, who signed her up. Now using the name Yumiko (a nickname given to her in secondary school), she was selected along with Mandy Chiang and Maggie Lau to form the the girl group 3T, who released an EP "Butterfly" in 2002. She was the first of the group to move on to a solo career, releasing an EP "Yumiko The Debut" in November 2002 and by November 2003 she had released her first solo album "One2Three".
