Summary: This movie was actually shot in 1986........

This movie was actually shot in 1986(Lo Rei carried the same hairdo at that end of that year). The action is fast, brutal, and bloody, typical modern taiwanese style, and Alan Hsu Chang San plays the villain. The only drawback is the poor celluloid quality and bad costumes. there were many great ideas put into this script, as the pacing in the move is great, keeping the viewier interested. A tour de force for Lo Rei's kicking techniques. Available through a few cheap video distributors in the US, and widescreen on French on a rare French DVD. Recommended. ****/*****

Summary: Great piece of old school

Top drawer old school movie, great action scenes. It would be nice to see it scope & subtitled though, of course...

Summary: Breathless and mad actioner

If you like 'em with fast and continuous action with a bit of tongue in cheek, then you'll love this one. There are jaw-dropping action scenes by the ton, smouldering looks and back-stabbing all over the place, wild costumes and about a dozen major characters. The plot is as near incomprehensible as makes no difference, and the acting was probably very ordinary, but I can't say I really noticed.

This film is proof that you don't need big name actors or lots of money to make a great martial arts mini-epic. Highly recommended.
