Summary: Loving Girl (1999)
I wonder if anyone have heard about this movie before I mention it here. In fact, there are lots of reasons for audience not knowing about the movie. First, the ad. for the movie is so small that its only a 3 inches times 1.5 inches square. Second, 'Loving Girl' showed at only 4-5 theatres. Except Chinachem Theatres, the remaining theatres are designated for showing porn.
The story of 'Loving Girl' is about a young girl SO Siu-siu. Siu-siu's mom committed suicide when Siu-siu is young. Siu-siu is being taken care by her aunt (Diana PANG Dan) and her uncle (Elvis TSUI Kam-kong) who own a prositute restaurant. One day, officer Mang passes through Elvis's restaurant and he saw Siu-siu and he would like to take Siu-siu. However, Siu-siu has no interest in Mang. Instead, she falls in love with another officer's nephew. Diana tried to break the relationship between Siu-siu and her 'Dream Lover' by asking him to get permission from his Dad......
I think judging fromthe genre and the nature of the movie, most audience have no interest in picking up the movie from anywhere at any time. In fact, maybe you can expect the production quality after you know the story about the movie title. When 'Loving Girl' was showing in theatres, the ads and the posters are naming the movie as 'Loveing Girl'. I consider this has shown their negligence in the distribution.
Frankly speaking, this movie is quite boring. I think if you really want to watch the movie, try to get other things to do while you were watching. First of all, audience are disappointed as they found that they won't see Diana PANG and Elvis TSUI in love scenes. The love scenes were performed by the unknown girls and unknown boys. In fact, there are only a few love scenes.
The movie is also strange in switching between love scenes and nn-love scenes. Usually what you can see for those 'erotic' scene is the bathing of Siu-siu. I don't think this is what audience expected as they expect more erotic stuffs.
For the plot itself, it is not too bad but the script writer has made no effort in the movie. The whole story is plain and lack of stuffs to fill in the 92 minutes. The repeated use of bathing of Siu-siu only shows how poor the creativity of the movie is.
About the performance of the actors and actresses, due to the typical and lack of stuff scripts, there is nothing for the actors and actresses to act, even for the main cast Siu-siu. Needless to say how's the performance of Elvis TSUI and Diana PANG.
In short, I think as you haven't heard about the movie before, just forget it as there is no reason to worth you to take a look.
