This would have been a well made film if it wasn't a COMPLETELY UNCHANGED COPY of Ruthless People. Based on the performances alone, Lau Ching Wan was OK playing two characters, Alice was OK but she's no Bette Midler, and the supporting cast was fun at times. Although parts of the film were original (VERY FEW PARTS), the film simply copied too much (almost WORD FOR WORD) of the original to be able to stand on its own. I don't know how much I would like this film if I didn't see Ruthless People, but the fact remains I did. Let me put it this way, if you like Lau Ching Wan and don't mind the above, go ahead and have yourselves a good time. OK if you are bored, probably better if you didn't see Ruthless People.

A remake of the American film Ruthless People. Lau Ching Wan playsa rich, fast-food chain owner named Lam Chak-chi. Mr. Lam hates his wife but married her so that he could inherit the fast-food chain from her father. He decides he will kill his wife, but before he gets his chance she is kidnapped. Shortly after, the kidnappers demand ransom money or else they will kill his wife. By telling the police one thing and the kidnappers another, he hopes to get rid of his wife, keep the cash and come out of it all without being suspected of any wrongdoings. However, things don't go the way Mr. Lam expects. Lau Ching Wan also plays his twin brother, who is one of the kidnappers.
