Very offbeat movie with Lau Ching-Wan playing an eccentric retired detective who re-teams with his old partner, strait-laced Michael Chow. While the interplay between Lau and Chow is great, and there are some spooky moments, the movie is really uneven. Still, there are enough good moments to make it well worth a rental.

A Riot. I was on the ground dying from the jokes. Lau Ching Wanback in his shadow of Chow Yun Fat, playing a retired cop helping his buddy (Michael Chow Man Kin) in solving a series of murders, one of which his buddy's wife was witnessed to. Funnier than 01:00AM, this is probably the best example of the comedy/mystery genre.
