The Inspector Wears Skirts II

The original Inspector Wears Skirts wasn't a great movie by any stretch of the imagination. Hell, it barely qualifies as an average entry in the girls-with-guns genre. But at least it delivered a small bit of decent action, which its' sequel can't do, instead fully assaulting the viewer with awful attempts at comedy that will have you wondering why you even started the DVD in the first place.

Sequel with less of what worked in the original (the action) and more of what didn't (Sandra Ng & Billy Lau being annoying), plus Amy Yip (doing little more than carry her breasts around). It's even more like a series of skits (and less like a film with a plot), and whilst it offers a few good moments, it's not very good overall.

Although pretty good and entertaining, it had very little new material to offer from the original. The first one is far better, and if you were not too impressed by that one, then definitely keep away from part 2.

The second installment in Females Kicking Ass...err Inspector Wears Skirts series :) Now, I wasn't a big fan of the first installment, and there's a second one? Actually, I enjoyed watching this more than its predecessor, because I found this film more amusing. Also, there's actually a contingent of guys to spice up the film. And to get their asses kicked, of course, like the guys vs girls fights in the gym.

This film basically is about guys and girls wanting to date each other, and a lot of it is dedicated to a party to celebrate Madame's birthday (and for us to thank GOD the 80s aren't back yet, because the clothes are terrible!). The film takes on a serious twist towards the end when a bunch of European thugs take over an island, then a hostage. There are some good fights, and a few amusing moments-Stanley Fung is pretty funny, esp. when he challenges Melvin Wong to a duel, and Sandra Ng is also good-make this entertaining, if unchallenging, viewing.
