It was good to see how sword fight scenes looked in 1984 compared to the camera tricks of the sword fight scenes today. The kung fu scenes are numerous, fancy, beautiful, stylish and enjoyable.
The English subtitles in my Tai Seng version titled "Lover Beware" were partially below the screen so I couldn't read them and can't really comment about the plot.
I've always been a fan of Bridgette Lin, and this was my first time seeing her actually fighting in some scenes.

A true yawnfest presented in terrible quality from Tai Seng. Interestingly, Tai Seng's Cantonese version features music from Swordsman 2 and Drunken Master 2, which were made 10 years after this film. Could it be that they stole the music from Lover Beware, an unknown film??

Since Adam Cheng is my favorite actor and Brigitte Lin my favorite actress, this should have been my favorite film. But you're kidding yourself. This is terrible low-budget stuff, and nobody can deny it.

Summary: Adam Cheng plays his usual self.

Adam Cheng's back to being that super smooth slick guy with the big cool looking fan, also adored by all the chics.....jesus. Back to the action. He does look very slick in his fight scenes though. Choreographers have to make special fight scenes just for his looks. But they do a good job. Mr. Yee is in this one too. Does a descent job with his funny looking sword. A lot of familiar faces in this one, but its not quite all there. This movie seems like its missing something. It's like the smallest thing would have made this movie a great. I don't know what it is..........
