Summary: Another bad SB ending

OH SB like endings where it JUST ends and this movie is no exception, i can't stand those endings and it make you wonder what COULD of SHOULD of happened next

I am not familiar with this sotry though i have seen SWORd OF MANY LOVES and can see some similiarity

Basically a few misunderstandings lead to the main chacacter to seek revenge on a powerful kung fu master who he believes killed his father. But there is more to the story that just this. The Qing government have a plot to kill all kung fu master which this powerful kung fu master is trying to stop

It terms of plot/story, apart from a few twists and turns there is much of a story.

The action itself is ok, nothing special or that great but watchable

I feel the end scenes was so "out of nowhere" and i think helped reduced the rating it am giving it

6/10

Summary: 9/10 - FUN

Shaw Brothers may only have made one good film in 1984, but NTOTFF totally makes up for the rest - in 89 minutes it manages to squeeze in almost everything that's good about Shaws and wu xia. It feels a lot like one of Chor Yuen's 70's wu xia pian in a higher wired-up gear. It's a shame that classic Shaws actors like Chen Kuan Tai, Yueh Hua and Ti Lung weren't really around when it was made, but the cast of lesser known actors does a good enough job (and Kara Hui is fantastic). Great story, great production values and excellent action scenes - a total FUN experience.

probably the best adaption of Jing Yong's "Flying Fox of the Snowy Mountain" that you will find. This movie pretty much sums up the entire novel/[30-hour TV serial] in about 88 minutes. In addition, it contains some great action--still imaginative for its time. It's great to see Felix Wong, who practically owns wuxia TV series, in a Shaw movie. He also does some very good action, and Hui Ying Hong is good as usual.

There are two other adaptions of the same novel: Legend of the Fox with the venoms and Sword of Many Lovers with Leon Lai. This movie is more like a combination of both of the other movies, since it has scenes from both movies that are only in one or the other. The main weaknesses in this movie are the plot and character development. Due to the short length, there is practically none. IF you aren't familiar with the original novel, you will definitely not be getting what's going on here.
