Summary: Wang Shu Chen masterpiece.

This was the first animation long feature movie shot in wide-screen in China, directed by Wang Shu Chen, the most prominent pupil of Wan brothers, the pioneers of chinese animation. It tells the famous story of prince Na Cha, an heroic and powerful young boy who will fight the henchmen of the villainous Dragon King. There is plenty of fantasy, adventure, humor and shocking surprises (the suicide of the boy) and the character design (by Zhang Ding) is faithful to the beautiful chinese modern propaganda posters of the 70s. An impressive effort and a very enjoyable animation movie.
