護花驚情 (1997)
Body Guard

Summary: Weak copy, but at least no Whitney Houston!

Beleaguered bodyguard Yu Rong-guang is assigned to protect his boss’ niece, snooty fashion model Bonnie Lai, from both a deranged transvestite slasher and a special mystery murderer whose identity isn’t all that big a mystery. Competent, by-the-numbers cousin to BODYGUARD FROM BEIJING, only minus the action scenes and shot on video, folds in every cliche you’d expect from this genre—growing affection between the protector and his charge, a child in peril, treacly hospital scenes, a Yau Ma Tai shopping montage—and even manages to have both leads flash back to an opening murder sequence that involved neither of them!
