Phillip Kwok and Lo Meng find there lives boring and need meaning to it, and they get it when a government rebel comes there way, escaping from a massacre at the Shaoline temple. This is your run of the mill kung fu flick, with little plot, some character development but mainly fighting scenes. Each actor gets to show off alittle of there abilities. The same feel as a lot of SHAW brother movies but watchable all the same if you got nothing much to do Reviewer Score: 7

Reviewed by: TheManInWhite Date: 11/04/2004 Summary: A worthy edition to the Venoms' catalogue One of China's heroes, Hung Sze Kwan, is on the run after the destruction of the Shaolin Temple led by the priest Pai Mei and some skilled Wu Tang men. I know this formula sounds very familiar, but Chang Cheh decides to add a bit of a twist to the story. With Kwan badly wounded, he stumbles along the path of a bean curd seller, a waiter and a fledging kung fu disciple who all dream of doing something patriotic for their country. Thru a few conniving schemes, they treat his injury. Also with help from the leader of the Black Tiger Troupe, they ready themselves for an all-out killer ending with the Wu Tang baddies. While most Venom fans are not thrilled with this film, I thought it was a nich touch in making it more lighthearted than other Venom entries. I particularly enjoyed the interaction between Kuo Choi, Lo Meng and Sun Chien which is hardly showcased in their other efforts. Make no mistake, the film gets very fierce when the time comes for it. Action aplenty with outstanding performances all around, especially from the irrepressible Lu Feng. Highly recommended.

Reviewed by: mpongpun Date: 09/03/2002 This is one of my least favorite flicks featuring the so called “Venoms” team. The story is about the Manchus trying to capture Hung Sze Kwan (Pai Piso) to say the very least. Other than that, this flick is an excuse for a never ending stage show with mighty acrobats flipping, and fighting rhythmically with each other. Lu Feng steals the show in the finale as an army of one taking on all the “good” guys until he is killed unceremoniously. Despite the long and somewhat overdrawn finale, the rest of the flick is forgettable.
